Our Slaton based South Plains Veterinary Clinic was founded in 1964, and since then our staff has been practicing veterinary medicine and compassionate medical care for the South Plains area.
Courtney J. Pace, DVM
Dr. Pace began working at the clinic in July of 2013, and became the owner in January 2017. She was raised in the Ft. Worth area. After graduating from from Keller High School, Dr. Pace moved to College Station and became very involved with the Block and Bridal organization at Texas A&M University. During college, her summers were spent working as a technician in a few Equine Specialty Clinics. Vet school further honed her interest in Equine Medicine and Surgery. Later, Dr. Pace spent a year interning in San Antonio and then moved to Slaton to join the ranks with Dr. Farr. Dr. Pace and her husband James have one daughter, Mesa, and 4 dogs; Sister, Dora, Moose, and Mae West. They also have two Quarter Horses named Lizard and Sugar, a nurse cow named Belle, and a herd of commercial heifers. Dr. Pace loves her job because she gets to save animals, and interact with very special people. She has enjoyed getting to know the folks in West Texas and continues to develop lasting friendships.
Marshall Sevcik “Dr. S”, DVM
Dr. Sevcik became part of our family in June of 2019 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. He is from Halletsville, Texas, about 100 miles east of Houston. Dr. Sevcik is passionate about veterinary medicine, and his strong work ethic is a significant contribution to our family. He enjoys cooking, and has two Australian cattle dogs, Jake and Diesel, with his fiancé Kendall.
Kelly Prather, Office Manager
Kelly started at the South Plains Vet Clinic in August of 2018. She has a big heart and is genuine and kind to every person and animal she meets. Kelly is from Lubbock, and her favorite food is peanut butter and honey sandwiches. She enjoys spending time with her family whenever she can, and her and her husband, Matthew, are expecting their first baby, Paisley, in August of 2019. They also have two fur babies, Karma and Lucky, who are very excited about their new baby sister.
Cassandra Vera, Receptionist
Cassandra began working at the clinic in 2017. She is from Snyder Texas, and is happily married to her husband, Jacob. Cassandra and her family have six dogs: a long haired chihuahua mix, Kevin Heart, a hairless pit bull mix, Feo, and four mutts named Soli, Tootsie, Venom, and Teddy Jack. She loves all things Disney and hopes that when you visit our clinic you feel our small-town love and kindness.
Madyson Polozola, Receptionist
Madyson is from Lubbock and started working for the clinic in April 2019. Growing up she showed pigs, and now she enjoys live music. Madyson has two dogs, Marley and Kate. She has a lot of fun designing advertisements for the clinic and helping us gain more happy customers.
Riley Trotter, Head Small Animal Veterinary Technician
Riley has been working at SPVC since 2014. She is very particular about keeping things in stock and can always be found organizing the pharmacy. Riley is newly married and is the mother of two amazing children. She also has three adorable fur babies: two Australian Sheperds, Oakley and Remington, and a black cat named Jackson.
Kristi Morris, Small Animal Veterinary Technician
Kristi has been working here the longest! She started working at SPVC in 1995. At work, Kristi's favorite things to do cleaning infected dog ears, chatting with long-time clients, and making friends with all the new people that come into the clinic. Kristi and her husband of 25 years, Chuck, have two sons that also love animals. Along with the family's show lambs, Kristi's family has a cat, named Annabella, and six dogs: Dazzle, Skunk, Lucy Lui, Sassy, Sunshine, and Radar.
Stephanie Thompson, Small Animal Veterinary Technician
Stephanie was raised in Slaton and started working for the clinic in September 2018. She loves all of our patients and works hard to keep them feeling their best. Stephanie says she feels blessed to have such an amazing work family that make sure each patient gets the best care possible. Her and her husband, Michael, have two beautiful daughters, Krista and Macayla. They also have six precious fur babies: a great dane, Sampson, a white lab, Maddie, a basset hound, Bevo, a miniature poodle, Loki, and two cats, Oliver and Midnight.
Austin Wenzel, Large Animal Technician
Austin is always giving us a good laugh! He started in February 2019 and is from Shallowater, Texas. Austin and is girlfriend, Linzi, have a daughter named Masyn and three dogs, Post, Rocky, and Scooter.
Johnny Garza, Barn Maintenance
Johnny has been working at SPVC since 2016 and is from Lubbock. He is the loving father of two daughters. His daughter oldest daughter, Makayla, is in band, and his youngest daughter, Kyrene plays softball and basketball. Johnny is a hard worker and takes pride in making sure our barns look their best. He loves to bake, read, and watch basketball.
Arnoldo Perez, Barn Maintenance
Arnaldo is from Slaton and started at the clinic in 2017. He enjoys working hard to making our clinic a standard above the rest. In his free time Arnoldo likes to watch football and old school wrestling, play pool, and spend time with his mom.
