Meet the team

Dr. Courtney Pace

Dr. Courtney Pace joined our clinic family in July 2013 and proudly took the reins as owner in January 2017. Growing up in the Ft. Worth area, she’s always had a deep connection to Texas. After graduating from Keller High School, she headed to College Station and actively engaged with the Block and Bridal organization at Texas A&M University. Her summers during college were dedicated to gaining valuable experience as a technician in several Equine Specialty Clinics, which further fueled her passion for Equine Medicine and Surgery throughout veterinary school. Following her studies, Dr. Pace completed a year-long internship in San Antonio before relocating to Slaton to work alongside Dr. Farr. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Pace shares her home with her husband, James, their two daughters, Mesa and Jentry, and beloved dog, Mae West. They also have two Quarter Horses and a herd of commercial heifers. Dr. Pace truly loves her role in veterinary medicine. The ability to save animals and connect with the wonderful people of West Texas brings her immense joy. She values the friendships she’s cultivated within the community and continues to grow those special relationships.

Terra

Terra is our dynamic office manager, and she’s been a wonderful addition to our clinic since October 2022. With her extensive experience in the veterinary field, collectively for 13 years, she’s worn many hats—from reception to technician, and now managing our office with true skill and grace. Terra is originally from Clyde, Texas. She is a true dog lover at heart. She shares her home with two cats who definitely know how to make their presence felt! In her free time, Terra enjoys curling up with murder mysteries and documentaries, taking family trips, and embracing her occasional introverted moments. She says, “I enjoy being behind the scenes and helping staff and clients with anything they need.” Terra’s commitment and passion truly shine through in everything she does!

Taylor

We’re excited to welcome Taylor to the team as our new receptionist! A graduate of Coronado High School, Taylor is currently working toward her veterinary assistant certification. She has 3 furbabies of her own. Her love for animals shines through in everything she does, and she's passionate about providing compassionate care to both pets and their people.

Outside of work, Taylor enjoys crocheting adorable stuffed animals, making unique earrings, and customizing t-shirts—she’s as creative as she is caring! With her dedication and enthusiasm, Taylor is looking forward to growing in the field and hopes to become a veterinary technician or assistant in the near future.

Chandler

We’re excited to welcome Chandler to the team as our new receptionist!

Originally from Boise City, Oklahoma, Chandler is 23 years old and a graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she earned a degree in Agricultural Communications. She grew up on a cattle farm, which gave her a deep appreciation for animals and hard work.

Although she’s new to the veterinary field, Chandler is eager to learn and brings a warm, friendly presence to our front desk.

When she’s not at the clinic, Chandler loves curling up with a good book, taking photos, and spending time with the people she cares about most. Her dachshund, Max, makes sure life is never boring!

Chloe

Chloe has been a dedicated small animal technician at our clinic since June 2021. A proud native of Slaton, she is currently in her senior year at Texas Tech University, pursuing a degree in Animal Science with a Pre-Vet focus, as well as a minor in chemistry. In her free time, Chloe enjoys fishing and playing pool on the weekends. She takes great pleasure in being a part of South Plains Vet, where she values the opportunity to connect with our clients and their beloved pets. “Coming to work always brings a smile to my face.”

Preslee

Preslee is a valued member of our small animal technician team, joining us in August 2024. Coming from River Oaks, Texas, she is a proud pet owner with three lively dogs and a unique turtle. Currently, Preslee is in her second year at Texas Tech University, where she is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology and Sports Management. Her enthusiasm extends beyond academics; she absolutely loves experiencing the excitement of concerts and hockey games. When she's not cheering for her favorite teams—the Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, and Anaheim Ducks—you’ll find her enjoying the Cowboy channel. We’re thrilled to have Preslee on our team, bringing her passion and dedication to everything she does!

Camryn

Camryn  is a dedicated member of the small animal team. Originally from Midland, Texas, she attended Midland Christian School before continuing her education at Texas Tech University. With three years of experience in the veterinary field, Camryn has developed a strong passion for caring for animals while also building meaningful relationships with clients. She especially enjoys the connection between pets and their owners and being part of their care journey.

At home, Camryn stays busy with her five German Shepherds and two cats, making life both lively and full of love. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dogs and spending quality time with friends. We’re grateful to have her experience, energy, and heart for both patients and clients as part of our team!

Serafina

Serafina is part of the small animal technician team. Coming from Dallas, Texas, she graduated from Rowlett High School before continuing her education at Texas Tech University. Although this is her first official role as a veterinary technician, she previously worked as a veterinary technician assistant, where she developed valuable hands-on experience and a strong passion for patient care. Serafina truly enjoys helping animals recover, grow stronger, and live their healthiest lives. At home, she has a pit mix named Hora who holds a special place in her heart. When she’s not at the clinic, you can often find her relaxing with a good book. We’re proud to have Serafina’s compassion and dedication as part of our team!

Kristi

Kristi is our dedicated small animal surgical technician, bringing an impressive 28 years of experience to our team! She is married to the love of her life, Chuck, and is the proud mother of two wonderful kids, Dylan and Rylan. Their household is lively with 5 dogs and 3 cats, showcasing her passion for animals. When she’s not at work, Kristi loves spending quality time with her family, especially at stock shows. She also enjoys visiting the Coyote store in Gail, where she delights in listening to live old country music. We are truly fortunate to have Kristi with us!

Katelynn

Katelynn joined our team in 2025 and brings with her a passion for animals and helping others. Originally from Big Spring, Texas, she graduated from Big Spring High School and continued her education at Howard College.

A true animal lover, Katelynn has two dogs and two chickens of her own. When she's not caring for her animals, you can often find her riding horses in her spare time. We're excited to have her on the team!

Austin

Austin is our exceptional large animal technician supervisor and has been a valued member of our team since 2019. He is from Shallowater, Tx, where he graduated from high school. Austin's passion for the outdoors shines through in his hobbies—he loves hunting, fishing, and embracing all that nature has to offer. We’re thrilled to have his energy and expertise with us!

Cole

Cole is an incredible addition to our team of large animal technicians! Joining us in September 2022, he is from Idalou, TX, and is currently in his second year at Texas Tech University, where he’s pursuing a degree in Animal Science. Cole has a passion for outdoor adventures, particularly hunting hogs and coyotes. When he’s not working, you can find him soaking up the sun on the lake, wakeboarding, skiing, or enjoying a thrilling ride on a tube. His love for both his profession and hobbies truly makes him a standout member of our team!
